Build up hard wax. Wed 26th August 2026

Looking to up your game in your jewellery making? Come along and learn how to craft models by building up with hard wax using the lost wax carving technique. You will learn techniques to create plain organic models first to get used to wax, the flow and shaping and them move on to create some models for gemstones.

You will learn to create claws over the stone in wax and remove them before casting. This will enable you to reset the stones easily at the other end. 

This class is wax work technique only, there are only three students in this class to give you the attention you need. 

Please note you are required to bring your own gemstones for this class- they can be practice stones, they don’t need to expensive or fancy and you will want them to be at least 7 mm and up. 

You will also need to wear a respirator mask as this wax does give off fumes. They will be provided.  

This course will take place on a Wednesday night 6pm- 10pm on the dates above at Gasworks arts park. Arts and crafts room, Richardson street, Albert park.
